The teahouse-style retreat offers a unique, oasis-like atmosphere in the heart of the city, and Yum Cha has been dubbed “the best in the country” by hundreds of guests
Those who visit are given free access to the gardens to maintain their sense of calm after leaving.
The venue draws on both aspects of its location with its contemporary take on a daytime Chinese high tea and The Blue Room, a private dining space for events and special occasions.
On weekends, The Gardens serves bottomless yum cha sessions for $69 per person and includes signature spring rolls with king brown mushrooms, shallot pancakes, steamed pork and chive dumplings, and crystal shrimp dumplings.

Other standout dishes include pork xiao long bao, school prawns with salt and pepper, soy noodles and mountain snow-covered pork buns.
“I love yum cha when it’s fresh and made to order…it’s so hot and so delicious,” said Nick of the food Instagram account Nick and Helmi of his experience.
“This is one of my top yum cha spots in Sydney. One of my favorites are the king mushroom spring rolls, they are a 10/10.

Other standout dishes include pork xiao long bao, school prawns with salt and pepper, soy noodles and mountain snow-covered pork buns

“You get 13 items but you can keep ordering and what I love is the view of the pond. If you have never tried this, you must do it.’
A la carte menu highlights include steamed barramundi with soy, ginger and shallots, wok-seared beef tenderloin with black pepper, green beans and baby corn, and short beef ribs with aged vinegar, garlic and chili.
There is also a nice selection of craft teas including jasmine, Chinese lychee, pu-erh, liquorice and peppermint, Chinese sencha and green chai.
