Mum is furious after receiving an ‘absolutely ridiculous’ $283 parking fine – so can you spot what she did wrong?
- Mom fined $283 in Sydney for parking over neighbor’s driveway
- She said it was “ridiculous” as she was only “millimeters” above the entry line
- Many said she would break into her neighbor’s driveway and earn the fine
A mum has fought back the “absolutely ridiculous” $283 fine she received for parking slightly over her neighbor’s driveway – but many say she deserved it.
The woman, from Sydney’s inner west, said she parked her car on the street a few weeks ago only to come back to see she had been fined.
She shared a photo of her park online and claimed she “dusted” the line on her neighbor’s driveway by just a millimeter.

A Sydney mum has been put in her place after slamming the $283 fine she received for parking over her neighbor’s driveway
“This feels absolutely ridiculous and is a complete money grab. Am I unreasonable?’ she said in a now-deleted post.
“My head is telling me to just pay the fine and be done, but I feel like this is a real injustice?”
She was quickly put into her place by other drivers in her area, who said she was clearly encroaching on her neighbor’s driveway.
The photo shows the rear of her car hanging over the driveway, leaving a narrow gap for her neighbor to exit.
“The only injustice would be not paying that fine,” said one.
Motorists in NSW are not allowed to park over a driveway unless picking up or dropping off passengers.
