Edmond Clark, 36, of Florida, stabbed another man 40 times in an attempt to decapitate him
This is the sickening moment a Florida man stabbed a man he knew 40 times with scissors in an alleged attempt to decapitate him.
Edmund Clarke, 36, walked into The Trading Post at Burnt Store Marina, a family-owned restaurant and shop in Punta Gorda, with the son of an elderly man for whom he served as a janitor.
Clarke and the victim had entered the store together and ordered food.
The couple could be seen selecting drinks and placing them on the counter.
Suddenly, Clarke grabs a pair of scissors from a nearby mug before pouncing on the victim.
The entire bloody attack was captured on surveillance video, while at least two other people inside the store witnessed the “brutal attack.”
The victim was stabbed more than 40 times in the head, neck and upper body. Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies say Clarke was seen hacking at the man in an attempt to decapitate him.

Suddenly, Clarke is seen grabbing a pair of scissors from a nearby mug before pouncing on the victim.

When the scissors didn’t seem sharp enough, he allegedly reached for other knives he found in the store’s kitchen area.
It took several minutes for police to arrive at the scene to attack Clarke – meanwhile the gruesome attack continued.
The victim was hospitalized with serious head, neck and upper body injuries.
Clarke had served as a caretaker for the victim’s father for about a decade.
The couple had met before the incident after the victim picked Clarke up from the hospital suffers from abdominal pain.
After leaving the hospital, Clarke told the victim he was hungry, so the two stopped at The Trading Post store and ordered food when the unprovoked attack suddenly began.

Witnesses said they heard Clarke suddenly hallucinate as he ranted about being attacked by an unknown enemy.
Then his violent and vicious attack began.
Clarke was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder.
“This heinous crime will not be tolerated in Lee County,” said Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
“I’m proud of the quick response from our MPs who helped save the victim’s life and the hard work of my detectives in getting Clarke off the streets.”
The victim was flown to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.
