Russian teenagers ‘stabbed a man to death at a party and then murdered the four female guests, raping one before burning their bodies’

Two teenagers reportedly stabbed a third after arguing over their cellphones – then killed four girlfriends they were with so they couldn’t tell police about the murder.
Sergey Burkaev, 16, and Konstantin Surkov, 17, are said to have raped their latest victim and cut her throat.
The vodka-fueled duo doused all five bodies in gasoline and set them alight in an apartment in southwestern Russia, according to prosecutors.

The baby-faced couple apparently fled in a stolen car but were apprehended by traffic officers who saw the vehicle driving erratically.
If convicted, Surkov and Burkaev face life imprisonment.
Police who questioned them say both teenagers confessed to the murders and rape. The only reason they gave for the slaughter was that they were drunk, officials added.
The horrific crimes are said to have happened at a house party in the small town of Kumertau, Bashkortostan, on Friday night.
A friend of partygoers – 17-year-old Svetlana Frolova – said: “I just can’t believe this happened. They were all so friendly to each other and always hung out together.
“I was also invited (to the party) and really wanted to go, but my mum said to stay at home to do my homework. I’m so glad I did. I can’t understand why they did that.’

The drunken Surkov and Burkayev are said to have accused party colleagues Sidor Fokine, 22, of stealing their mobile phones.
When he denied it, they got angry and drew their knives. They then stabbed him in front of the other guests – all of whom were female.
But they feared the young women would identify them as the killers. So they stabbed them too, including 16-year-old Maria Sorokina, at whose apartment they were partying, and her 17-year-old friend Anastasia Selezneva.

The other victims were 21 and 22 years old. Anastasia was the last to be murdered – and she was raped before her brutal death. The five bodies were set on fire in the apartment.
A police spokesman said of Surkov and Burkaev: “They were arrested trying to flee in a stolen car. They were covered in blood and still drunk.
“So far they’ve only said they did it because they were drunk.”
