Melania Trump and her ex-assistant Stephanie Winston Wolkoff went to war on Wednesday over the former first lady’s Christmas comments.
On Tuesday, Trump told Breitbart and then her office tweeted that Wolkoff “viciously edited” the conversation published in October 2020 to make it sound like “Christmas means nothing to me.”
In the tape recording, the then first lady can be heard complaining, “I’m working… my asshole on the Christmas stuff, you know that. Who’s doing the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I have to do it, don’t I?’ she said before speaking about how she’s faced public pressure to do something about the segregation of migrant families at the US-Mexico border.
The renewed pushback comes just days after Trump released a Christmas ornament collection featuring “The Christmas Star,” engraved with Trump’s signature and available on MelaniaTrump.com for $45 along with a corresponding animated NFT along with six other Christmas ornaments was sold to the USA Memorabilia website.
“That’s ridiculous! Melania is lying and using MY name to gain attention to sell HER Christmas tchotchkes,” Wolkoff replied via Twitter on Wednesday.

She also called the former first lady “PATHETIC” in another tweet.
One of the ornaments designed by Melania Trump and the corresponding NFTs featured her slogan “Be Best”.

In another tweet, Wolkoff wrote ‘PATHETICAL!’
“Melania Trump must attack ME for selling NFS Christmas ornaments. What is Melania worried about? She can’t sell jewelry by herself?’
She wrote the Melania and Me reveal and released it about two months before the 2020 election.
The tapes were released to the public at the launch of book publication.
According to The New York Times, Wolkoff worked as the First Lady’s unpaid senior advisor until her contract was terminated in February 2018.
On Tuesday, Melania Trump accused Wolkoff of deleting part of the conversation in which the then-First Lady expressed a desire to reunite migrant children and families.
“Most people will agree that reuniting migrant children with their parents is more important than discussing Christmas decorations over the summer,” Melania Trump said. “The fact that Wolkoff deleted that part of our conversation in which I expressed hope of reuniting families separated at the southern border exposes their malicious intent.”
In the 2020 recording, Melania Trump can be heard complaining that President Barack Obama’s administration has not received criticism for its border policies.
On Wednesday, Wolkoff also took a screenshot of an email from the future first lady to prove they were indeed close
“Okay, and then I do it and say I’m working on Christmas and I’m planning for Christmas, and they were like, ‘Oh, what about the kids that they got separated?'” she said. ‘Give me a fucking break. Did they say anything when Obama did that? I can’t walk, I tried to reunite the child with the mother. I didn’t stand a chance – have to go through the process and the law.
Melania Trump also called Woloff “untrustworthy.”
Throughout Wednesday, Wolkoff continued to go after the ex-first lady – as former President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump were being sued by Democratic Attorney General Letitia James in New York.
“Melania Trump is just like her husband. A serial liar and impostor,” Wolkoff said.
She also takes a screenshot of an email from the former First Lady to prove they are indeed close.
The 2012 news story shows Melania Trump calling Wolkoff “darling” and asking Wolkoff to quote a journalist profiling the future first lady — and being asked about dates for a luncheon.
