Fans of the popular NBA 2K franchise are used to controversy surrounding player ratings in the game, and the latest installment of such drama took place on Tuesday afternoon.
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant wasn’t impressed with his 96 overall rating in the game. This rating puts him second best in the game.
The grand prize went to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who secured a 97 rating.
Durant expressed his frustration on Twitter, calling 2K’s digital marketing director Ronnie Singh, better known as “Ronnie2K.”

That director, Ronnie2K, jokingly replied that he might have to adjust the game’s cover art
“Aye @Ronnie2K I need an explanation why I’m not 99? This has gotten ridiculous,” Durant tweeted.
Ronnie jokingly replied, “I request that we remove MJ on the cover and replace the real 99 with you.”
Throughout the game, Durant was never rated higher than a 97 during his senior year with the Golden State Warriors during the 2018-19 season.
With a 96 rating, Durant is level with former teammate Stephen Curry, as well as other stars like MVP Nikola Jokic, LeBron James and Joel Embiid.
The NBA season ends Tuesday, October 18 – the Nets open their season on the 19th at home against the New Orleans Pelicans.
