Instagram is having some major problems right now

Instagram is currently facing some issues affecting users trying to open its app on their iPhone or Android device. Users on Reddit report that the app keeps crashing, making it difficult for them to see posts, and DownDetector shows that over 20,000 reports have been submitted through the service since around 12:30 p.m. ET (9:30 a.m. PT).

The issues don’t seem to be 100 percent consistent — for some edge Staff, the service seems perfectly fine. However, others report repeated crashes, especially when trying to view stories. Redditors report that restarting or reinstalling the app doesn’t seem to fix the issue.
