Former Manchester City star David Silva is fined after he ‘roughly grabbed’ a woman who was left with bruises and abrasions during a brawl at a carnival in the Canary Islands
- According to Spanish media, David Silva has been fined for grabbing a young woman
- The incident happened on June 19 at the Maspalomas Carnival in Gran Canaria
- His brother Fernando Antonio Jimenez Silva was also involved in the incident
- A third unnamed participant was sentenced to prison for his involvement in what happened
Manchester City legend David Silva has been fined €1,080 for grabbing a young woman during a brawl at a carnival in the Canary Islands.
The incident took place on June 19 at the Maspalomas Carnival in Gran Canaria and also involved Real Sociedad star Fernando Antonio Jimenez Silva’s brother and an unnamed third person.
According to the Spanish media outlet Tiempo de Canarias, which had access to court documents, in ‘intent to undermine the victim’s physical integrity’, Silva ‘grabbed her arm hard to move her away, causing her to fall to the ground.’
As a result of this action, the young woman is said to have suffered post-traumatic neck pain, a bruise on her left elbow, as well as bruises and abrasions on her knees and a finger on her left hand.
She required medical attention at the scene “with no subsequent medical treatment required”.
The third unnamed person involved in the brawl reportedly hit a young man with a rock and threatened another with a knife, shouting, “Come here and I’ll cut you down.”
The case never went to trial as all of the defendants admitted their role in the incident.

The Real Sociedad player, his brother Fernando Antonio Jimenez Silva and an unnamed third person were implicated in the Maspalomas Carnival incident back in June

The Real Sociedad midfielder admitted the facts by prosecutors and was fined €1,080 “at a rate of €12 a day for three months”.
This result came about because the footballer was the “responsible perpetrator of a minor offense involving bodily harm with subsidiary personal liability for non-payment of one day’s imprisonment for every two unpaid daily rates,” according to the judge.
Silva was also ordered to compensate the young woman between €520 and €280 for the injuries she sustained and the other €240 for property damage caused by the incident.

His brother, meanwhile, punched a young man in the face and, after the victim fell to the ground, hit him on various parts of his body along with other people who could not be identified.
Fernando is also said to have “hit multiple punches” at another young woman who broke a chain she was wearing around her neck.
The judges found that the first victim suffered injuries to multiple parts of her body that required medical attention, while the woman suffered from a sore throat, bruising to the shoulder and “left parietal, occipital and retroauricular hematoma” as a result of the blows to the head.
The unnamed third person threw a rock at another young man, hitting him in the head – causing a wound that required surgical intervention.

Silva won four Premier League titles during his legendary time as a Manchester City player

Silva returned to Man City earlier this month to meet former team-mates and manager Pep Guardiola (pictured).
The judge said the defendant then approached another man with a knife and threatened him, saying, “Come here and I will cut you.” He was sentenced to eight months in prison for throwing the stone and a three-month fine for the second threat.
Silva is one of Manchester City’s greatest players, having spent a legendary decade at the Etihad Stadium where he won four Premier League titles.
Just days after the incident allegedly happened, Silva posted a photo on Instagram showing him with staff at the beach club he owns on the island.
There is no indication that anyone pictured with Silva was involved in the carnival incident.
Silva owns the luxury resort on Amadores Beach in the Anfi del Mar region of Gran Canaria.
The resort has private cabins with their own pools dotted around the resort, while sunbeds sit alongside huge communal pools and hot tubs with stunning ocean views.
The 36-year-old left Manchester City in 2020 to join La Liga side Real Sociedad.
