Former Attorney General Bill Barr called the Russia probe a “dirty” trick and says there is “seditious activity” in explosive new comments while promoting a memoir in which he writes that Trump “only cares about one thing.” has: himself” during the 2020 campaign effort.
As he did in the book, Barr ripped the Russia probe in a new interview with conservative talk show host Glenn Beck on his podcast.
“I think whatever you think of Trump, the fact is that the whole Russiagate thing was a grave injustice. It was a — it appears to be a dirty political ploy used first to hobble him and then potentially oust him from office,” Barr told the host.
Beck then alluded to the Constitution’s treatment of treason – which it exposes as war against the US and aid and comfort to its enemies, who are punishable by death.

“The whole Russiagate thing was a grave injustice,” said former Attorney General Bill Barr, who described the behavior as “seditious.”
“I hate the word treason because it’s the only word in the constitution that carries a penalty. But is it at least inflammatory to do such a thing?’ Beck asked his guest.
“I think it’s inflammatory, yes,” Barr replied.
But then he seemed to indicate that he wasn’t using the word in the literal sense. “Whether that can be proven in court as a crime is a question. But I think people are coming now to see what actually happened,” Barr added.
The interview came amid the trial of Democratic attorney Michael Sussmann, who is accused of lying to the FBI about his work for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, when he gave a senior FBI official information about an alleged connection between the Trump Organization and delivered to a Russian bank.

Host Glenn Beck said he hated using the word “treason” but asked if the behavior was “seditious”.

Barr appointed Special Counsel John Durham during the Trump administration
The tip turned out to be inaccurate.
Jury deliberations in the case, which began ahead of Memorial Day weekend, will resume on Tuesday.
Prosecutors argued that Sussmann “hidden” his connections when he brought the information about Alfabank.
Defense attorney Sean Berkowitz accused Durham, who was appointed by Barr during the Trump administration to investigate alleged FBI misconduct, of selecting evidence that fitted a narrative.
“Opposition research is not illegal,” Berkowitz said in conclusion. “If it were, Washington, DC jails would be overcrowded.”
Barr continues to promote his book One Damn Thing After Another, in which he defends his own conduct in dealing with the Mueller investigation, even as he criticizes Trump for his subsequent efforts to subvert the election, stating flatly that “the election was not stolen.” ” became .”‘
He wrote of Trump after the 2020 election: “He was out of control. He only listened to a few toadies telling him what he wanted to hear. It was hopeless to argue with him.’
Beck said of Barr’s book, “I think this is the best title of any book that can be written today.” Before sitting down with Barr, he promoted glasses that he said were made by a “conservative company” despite using progressive lenses.
“I have no problem at all,” Beck said after putting them on.
