Manly Magistrates’ Court heard on Monday that Ms Su claimed that Mr Hammett was with Dr. Finding Stephanie Allen, Deloitte’s Global Healthcare Leader, in bed
“He was working with a colleague on work-related matters at his premises and it is strenuously denied that they slept together,” Mr McGirr said.
“It seems that Ms. Su was very stressed and may have misinterpreted the matter.”
A video interview with police was played in court in which Mr Hammett claimed he woke up to find Ms Su in the room “yelling” and “hitting” him.
He said he then “opened the balcony door and took her outside.”
The court heard Ms. Su tell police in her police interview that she was choked with “much force” and the side of her face “pressed against a wooden pillar.”
Mr Hammett denied the allegations.
The court heard the couple had holidayed in Byron Bay a week earlier and that Mr Hammett broke up with Ms Su at the end of the trip.

Constable Meriki Buckman told the court that Dr. Allen is present in the bedroom.
The court heard that Dr. Allen had told police she was in an “on and off” relationship with Mr Hammett.
Judge Robyn Denes ruled that Ms Su was guilty of assault but did not record a conviction.
Mr. Hammett is a former Head of Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration and a senior officer at NSW Health with over 25 years of clinical experience.
