An enthusiastic Daniel Andrews pushed Anthony Albanese out of the campaign limelight during the Victorian Prime Minister’s first joint campaign event with the Labor Party leader.
Mr Andrews received an unexpected call from to answer a question about his relationship with Scott Morrison on Tuesday at a campaign rally where the Labor Party national leader pledged $2.2 billion to end the S-Bahn loop -to support the Victorian Government project in Surrey Hills, Melbourne.
However, it was Mr Andrews – who became a national figure during the pandemic, as Victoria became the world’s most locked down jurisdiction – who stole the limelight and blew up the “wretched Morrison government” for giving Victoria “zero dollars.” “ for the railway project that had offered.
Mr Andrews stole three minutes and 40 seconds from Anthony Albanese’s precious time for a press conference – while the opposition leader in the background looked awkwardly anxiously over his shoulder.

Eventually, after ducking and dodging a bit to let Mr. Andrews know who should be the star of the show, Mr. Albanese managed to regain control.
Mr Andrews continued to attack the Prime Minister and the coalition government until he finally came up with the idea that the launch should highlight the federal opposition leader’s commitment to Victoria.
Mr Andrews even said: “Ultimately, this is Albo’s press conference and back to him!”
This was followed by uneasy laughter from the future Prime Minister, the PM and the other Labor MPs on stage, including Jim Chalmers and Catherine King.
Before being forced to hand over the reins of the press conference, Mr Andrews had snubbed the federal coalition government.
“Every federal dollar the Victorians get from that wretched Morrison government, when we should bow our heads and treat it like foreign aid, has been ripped off by this Liberal National government,” he said.

“Mr. Morrison … should have delivered here for Victorian workers and families.”

“The contrast could not be clearer. Anthony Albanese is about building things. It’s about partnership.

“It’s about creating jobs. He’s about making sure our cities and regions, our nation, actually work,” he said.
Mr Andrews then said Mr Morrison was “a guy who’s so desperate because he’s been there for a decade and hasn’t done exactly anything… (he’s got) an excuse for everything and a plan for nothing”.
“It’s the kind of stuff that comes from Prime Ministers who just ran out of time,” he said.
And seconds later Mr Andrews realized he was running out of time himself as Mr Albanese finally managed to catch his eye and let him know who the real boss was.
