Two dachshunds have gone viral for drinking pints of Guinness in a pub.

Madigan, one, and Dylan, 11, have fallen in love with the taste of Irish stout and enjoy a glass when they go for a stroll.

An adorable video shows the puppies from Dublin, Ireland resting their paws on the bar and swallowing the alcohol.

Owner Scot Buchholz said: “They only drink Guinness. You’re so snobby and you can tell if it’s not the original.

‘They don’t drink any other ales or beers. I have to order a pint of Guinness for them because the waiter brings bowls of water and they never drink it.

“But they put the pint down and walk away.”

Scot added: “It’s a great talking point for people. You see her in the pub and you always say, “I never thought I’d be out on a Monday and see a dog drinking a pint”.

“People always want to pet and pet them. Once these girls came by and asked if it was Dylan and Madigan and said their grandmother follows them on Instagram.

“Everyone is happy to see her.”

He added: “We are waiting for Guinness to create a dog-friendly beer for them. You just take a responsible small sip of it.

“They’re not there for the alcohol, it’s the barley and grain in it that attracts them. There are some vitamins in there that are good for them.”

Dogs Trust warns that dogs are drinking alcohol due to ethanol poisoning, a type of alcohol.

Toxicity can cause central nervous system depression, and clinical symptoms range from lethargy or depression and incoordination to tremors and death.
