Tesla is recalling 1.1 million vehicles to prevent drivers from being pinched by windows.
The problem is that the windows would not detect certain objects when closing, which could result in “an occupant’s entrapment injury.” It’s a fairly large recall, covering some 2017-2022 Model 3, 2020-2021 Model Y, and 2021-2022 Model S and Model X.
Tesla said it would issue a fix via an over-the-air software update. In particular, no one was hurt or killed by Tesla’s starved windows, but I wouldn’t recommend sticking your fingers in just to see what happens.
